Pachira Aquatica, or the Money Tree, is a tropical plant naturally found in the swamps of Central and South America. The name Money Tree is said to originate from a poor man who prayed for fortune. He came across the Pachira Aquatica, brought it back to his home, and began selling its seeds for money. In your home, be sure to never leave your Money Tree in direct sunlight as this will scorch the foliage. Provide your plant with a well draining pot to ensure root rot doesn’t occur.
